The SCV is one of the most necessary units among
your aresenal. Without this unit (unless you are a cheater) you cannot build anything and
therefore you cannot expand your empire. The SCV mines minerals and collects gas and
returns them to your Command Center. The SCV is the only way you can build units and
buildings (unless you are building an add-on). Now, everyone (at least I hope so) knows
how to use the SCV. It is the most basic element of Starcraft Gameplay, so use it wisely.
There are several ways to utilize the SCV to speed up and expand production. The way I
have found to be most useful, is to create about fifteen SCVs, but you might want to be
careful because of supply limit. Use five of your SCVs to mine minerals, five to collect
gas. Use the other five to build structures. This is affective and fast because you are
using your resources as more come in. Another tip that is very important is build
everything you can. But, make sure, you build a sort of guarding team to watch out for any
enemies while you are constructing. Once you have built everything, move onto upgrading
everything. This makes for a well-built and strong army. But, beware of focusing on just
one thing at once. You must collect resources, build buildings, research upgrades, and
begin your army to be able to stand up to the merciless enemy.
