The Saboteur: Chapter I

My mission was supposed to be simple: scan the area for any signs of Zerg, and take my team out to destroy them. So I thought. How neive could I be? Nothing is that simple with a race as convuluted as humans. I learned this the hard way, losing much dear to me.

It all started one month ago on our Terran Command Ship. The general came up to me to give me my instructions. "Blake, you know your mission. There are scarce Zerg signals in this area and we need you to get rid of them. It shouldn't be too hard, there are not many, but to be on the safe side, take any precautions neccessary."
"Yes, sir. When do we begin?"
"ASAP. Take out your normal combat team and get to it,"
"Yes, sir," I turned to an operator, "call out my combat team and tell them to meet me in my quarters at 20 o' hundred hours." The operator carried out my orders and I left to drawing up an attack plan.

Three hours later, my men arrived. I posted the plan on my wall. I explained the situation of the Zerg and about our seek and destroy mission. My men took to it fast and we had the equipment ready within an hour. My team was made up of five tanks, five marines, six firebats, three vultures, three ghosts (including me) and five valkyries for air support. Our plan was a simple one, but it appeared effective and fast. We would split up into three pre-asigned attack formations and the valkyres would accompany each one. We would go out in sort of a "tri-fork", This was made possible because the Zerg were unusually concentrated in one area, so we could center on it. Attack formation A, led by me, would go straight into the vegetation in the area and take cover under trees that were designated with red spray paint. Attack formation B, led by my second in command, Jet Green, would go to the left, just forward of Attack formation A and turn sideways to face the enemy. Attack formation C, led by Kit Grayson, would do the same as Attack formation B, but they would go a little more further than B. The valkyries would start the attack to get the Zerg concentrated on them and so the valkyries could eliminate any air support of the Zerg. Then, the tanks would move forward of their attack groups and begin fire. When the Zerg charged into them, the firebats and marines would charge and eliminate them, outnumbering them. If neccesary, Jet Green, Kit Grayson and I (all ghosts) would use nuke support from our local Command Center. The plan was straightforward, easy to carry out, and hopefully effective. I gave my men the rest of the night to get some rest because tommorro would be vigourous training to ensure my men were ready and the day after would be our attack.
